VitalAID (Chile, University of La Frontera and University of Bío-Bío), one of the ideas selected to receive support from Santander X Explorer, has launched its crowdfunding campaign.

The project seeks to address a major issue in Chile, where diagnosing an autoimmune disease can take more than seven years. During that time, patients live with severe pain, uncertainty, and expensive, often inadequate treatments. VitalAIDoffers an innovative solution aligned with the 2030 SDGs (Health and Wellbeing – SDG 3): a digital platform powered by artificial intelligence that organises patients’ clinical information and detects patterns. It also assists healthcare professionals in decision-making.

“What once was pain is now a clear purpose. I myself spent over seven years without a diagnosis. With VitalAID, we want to change that reality for millions of people,” explains Katherine Prats, CEO and co-founder of the project alongside Isabel Pérez.

The founders have been working on the project for nearly a year. It was born at a university hackathon and is now ready to take the next step with the support of the Santander X Explorer programme. Through their crowdfunding campaign, they aim to gain visibility, attract donations, collaborators, beta testers, and strategic partners to help refine the platform and move towards robust clinical validation.

Fundraising and partnership efforts are already underway for VitalAID. You can check the progress of their campaign and learn how to take part here.
