Wemate (Spain), one of the 20 ideas selected to receive support from Santander X Explorer, has launched its crowdfunding campaign.

The project is a flexible** employment platform for students,** giving them access to both entry-level jobs (events, hospitality, etc.) and everyday tasks (babysitting, tutoring, etc.) in one place. This maximises their chances of finding work that fits around their studies. Wemate helps students earn money while gaining work experience, and enables companies to find** motivated and responsible young people**. In doing so, it also contributes to SDGs 8 and 11: decent work and economic growth, and sustainable cities and communities.

Guillem, the founder, has been working on this project since December 2024 and has now launched the campaign to take it to the next level: building an online platform to professionalise the service, expand the range of opportunities, and help more students enter the labour market without compromising their education.

“We want to avoid people having to choose between studying and working. No one should have to abandon their studies because they can’t afford the rent. With Wemate we are creating opportunities for those who need them most,” explains Guillem.

Whether you are a business, an individual, or a student, you can take part in the campaign and access exclusive benefits and discounts — including early access to Wemate before the platform’s official launch. Fundraising has already begun; check out the campaign and find out how to get involved here.
