fIRlight (Spain, URJC), one of the projects selected to receive support from Santander X Explorer, has launched its crowdfunding campaign.
What is this project, linked to the 2030 SDGs, about? It seeks to bring clean, accessible, and purpose-driven energy through fIRlight — a wooden, origami-style lamp designed for both outdoor and home use. The buy one, give_ one_business model is its key value proposition: for every fIRlight Luma purchased, a fIRlight Spark is donated to people without access to the electricity grid.
Preparation and logistics are carried out in collaboration with ATADES, generating inclusive employment opportunities for people with disabilities. In this way, the project contributes to SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Inclusion), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). It also promotes the development of innovative and renewable technologies designed in Spain, such as fIRlight Zero: the only device capable of converting heat from any surface into usable energy. It even turns body heat into light!

“Energy should not depend on your postcode. With fIRlight, we want every purchase to light up two lives: your own and that of someone currently living in darkness. Luma proves that design, sustainability, and social impact can go hand in hand,” explains Javier, the project’s founder.
Fundraising for** fIRlight** has already begun. Here you can see how their campaign is going and, if you wish, how to collaborate with it!
