"Houston, we have a problem." This is how GreenCycle begins to describe the crowdfunding campaign they have just launched to get their project off the ground. It addresses the need for innovative education in a world where climate change and environmental degradation are advancing at a rapid pace.

GreenCycle (Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción, Chile) is one of the 20 ideas selected to receive the support from Santander X Explorer in their campaign. But what exactly do they propose? In this video they tell you:

"Our integrated approach to environmental education, combining theory with practice, sets us apart from other educational projects. We strive to create awareness about the importance of sustainability and environmental action, training children to become agents of change in their communities and in the world," they explain.

To this end, they propose a first module in workshop format, aimed at children from 5 to 14 years of age, in which they will come into contact with the concepts of product life cycle and its impact on the environment. Its innovative pedagogical methodology is based on four "I's": intellect, inquiry, imagination and integrity. These areas guide the educational approach, which "seeks to empower children as agents of change" in the fight against environmental degradation.

The truth is that we are all involved in this battle: the United Nations warns that humans are responsible for most of the disturbances that cause problems in our daily lives.
