It's Up and Running! Centro Matria Launches Its Crowdfunding Campaign

A new project has been launched, with the aim to improve the care women and families receive during maternity. Today, many women feel unsupported and demand better quality support and guidance during this stage. The resources currently offered are insufficient and do not meet the needs of many families.

Centro Matria (Miguel Hernández University of Elche, Spain), one of the 20 ideas selected to receive support from Santander X Explorer in a crowdfunding campaign, has launched their fundraising campaign. Their goal is "to gain more visibility and become a reference centre for maternity care, secure a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for women during this stage, and reach families across Spain with our online services."

The project, led by Ángela Delicado and Elena Vaquero (midwife and physiotherapist, respectively), aims to provide complete and continuous care for women and babies during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.



Through a range of services and personalised programmes (both in-person and online), this space aims to enhance the journey of parenthood. "Our commitment is to accompany mums, ensuring a safer, more informed and enjoyable experience," Elena and Ángela add. Ideas like this contribute to improving family health and wellbeing, promoting quality health information and reducing gender inequality.
